Using your detective skills, see if you can solve the mystery of the trash timeline!

Join Judi Mannion, Director of Ross County Litter Control and Recycling and Ross County Outreach Specialist for the RPHF Solid Waste District on August 1, 2021 at Adena Mansion and Gardens Picnic Pavilion to hear about how disposing of trach in the early 1800's was much different than how we dispose of our trash today.

Review the 3 R's and make a craft item from reused materials that you can take home!

Patter Fam Cooking Demo - FULL

Join chef Sam Peters as he demonstrates making Cajun Jambalaya and Andouille Hush Puppies. Afterward, he will have a question and answer session, and guests will have an opportunity to purchase goods from Patter Fam Sauces.

Tickets are $5.00 per person, and seating is limited. The event will take place at the picnic pavilion , weather permitting.

Unvaccinated guest must wear a mask!

Murder Mystery Dinner Friday

September 10, 11 and 12 Adena Mansion and Gardens will once again become the place to hone your skills as a rookie crime solver in an entertaining atmosphere filled with great food and a mystery. This year's mystery, “Attempted Murder” is an all-new original production written and directed by Delmar Burkitt.

The grounds open at 5:15pm and the mystery will begin at 6:00pm. After you gather your clues, dinner will follow at approximately 7:00pm. Tickets are available at $50 per person for AMGS members and $55 for non-members. Admission includes both the mystery and the dinner. Prizes will be awarded each evening at the conclusion of the program.

According to the CDC Guidelines, fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance in any setting, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.

At Adena Mansion and Gardens Historic Site masks are highly encouraged for children ages 3-11 and any other unvaccinated individuals 12 and up.

Scrapbooking Crop

Do you find yourself constantly interrupted when trying to scrapbook at home? Adena Mansion and Gardens has the solution for you! Join us for 12 peaceful hours and scrap those wonderful memories of families, friends, vacations, and more. March 19 and 20, 2021 at the Adena Mansion and Gardens Visitor Center. Each session lasts from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

We provide lunch dinner and snacks, enabling you to concentrate on your scrapbooking skills! Not only will you be set up with a personal six-foot table, but you will have electrical and Wi-Fi access.

Participating vendors will be on hand with interesting booths, and everyone will receive a welcome gift and be eligible for door prizes. The cost for each attendee is $ 100.00 for both sessions (ENTER PROMO CODE AMGS2021) or $55.00 per session. Reservations and advance payment is required, and can be made online or you may mail you request and payment to Adena Mansion and Gardens, 847 Adena Road, Chillicothe, OH 45601.

Please note that due to COVID-19 we are spreading out more for social distance. Also, masks are required if you are away from your assigned seat.

Step back 200 years into the home of the Worthington family for a special holiday tour. Celebrate the holidays at “Holidays at Adena."

Adena Mansion and Gardens will be decorated in 19th century yuletide splendor and will sure put you in the holiday spirit! While Adena is closed for the winter season, we re-open for the holidays for two weekends only. Guided tours of the beautifully decorated mansion will be offered every half hour beginning at 10:30 am with the last tour at 3:00 pm.

The Tenant House will be decorated to reflect the German traditions brought to Adena by many of the indentured servants who worked here. Visitors will find a Christmas tree, handmade decorations and offerings of German cookies and mulled cider which will reflect the heritage of the immigrants. There will be craft activities for children.

At the Visitor’s Center, live entertainment and refreshments will be offered. Reproduction children’s toys, books, holiday decorations, books and other unique items will be available for sale at the Adena gift shop. Elsewhere on the grounds, horse and carriage rides will be offered at an additional charge.

Admission to Holidays is $10 for adults; $5 for children. You may purchase your tickets at the door on the day of the event, or by calling 740-772-1500, or online.

During Children’s Weekend, December, 11 and 12, one child for each adult paying admission will be admitted free of charge.

We provide the evergreen wreath as well as natural materials gathered from the grounds of Adena Mansion & Gardens. You may also bring personal mementos to decorate your wreath.
